Wed, 12/26/12

Looks like the pedometer is also counting movements. So, while I was composing this email and shaking my leg, it was counting. So, in order to get a more accurate count, take it off when you're not actually walking. Or, if that's too much of a pain, just keep it on, but look at your steps with a grain of salt. Either way, you'll know more at the end of the day about your activity than you did at the beginning.

  2. Today I did 15,641. At least that is what the pedometer reads. Given that I am a leg shaker, I think I am going to have to aim for 20,000 a day, in order to consider myself really active.

  3. Yesterday it read 11,557 and that was with me only wearing it out and not in the house. Granted yesterday was a best case scenario with walking a distance to get lunch and running errands after work but I don't think I walked some 5 miles.

    1. It would be interesting to know what the actual distances were. At my hospital, whenever we have to take a patient for a particular procedure, someone measured it as half a mile to go and return!

  4. It was about 4000 steps, but I forgot to wear it to the Reagan Library where we walked at least 2 hours.
